i put down a glue trap as I saw signs of mice..however this morning I

to escape.

question is will mouse survive..

Yes the mouse will survive. Evidently your glueboards were either old,
coated with dust, or not of good quality to allow the mouse to get away.
Most of the time if a glueboard is in good condition the mouse will get
stuck and will start fighting to get away and in fighting will get stuck
even worse. This is not a guaranteed every time occurrence but most of the
time it will happen.

Did you bait the boards with anything? Lots of times peanut butter is used
and lots of it. If you did use peanut butter only a very small amount was
needed, about pea size droplet would do.

Try getting some new boards and get ones that are prebaited so you don't
have to use anything on them, they seem to work better.

I hope this helped.

I have used these traps before and they have caught 2 so far - they
were new.. however they must have got dust on them.

I used no bait as per my last two ctaches didnt need em.

I will try some new ones.

I may use one on the floor and another one against the wall -
